Hi, there!

My name is James Plant, and I am a FEDIP-registered Data Scientist based in Liverpool, England.

I am well-experienced in advanced analytical work, and I hold two degrees in the biomedical sciences - A first-class BSc with honours in Biomedical Science from the University of Salford, and an MRes with distinction in Stem Cells, Tissues, and Disease from the University of Liverpool. I mostly work in healthcare and scientific analysis, but I am always interested in new experiences!

Here I am at NHS ConfedExpo 2025.

Under Construction

This site is under construction. It will contain information about myself, the professional services I can provide, and a personal blog. Whilst I am not currently looking to leave my 9-5 career job, I am interested in taking on freelance work.

Read the blog here, although there isn't much (or anything) on it yet.

This website is intentionally minimal (with the exception of a bit of CSS fun at the top there...) for total flexibility, and because this is how I like personal websites - minimal fuss. This page is raw HTML written in neovim, the blog is built with bashblog. This site intentionally does not contain JavaScript.

More to come. Thanks for stopping in. Please feel absolutely free to email me (PGP public key) if you have any questions or queries.

Publications

Prior to my career in data science, I worked in biomedical research in acadaemia and industry. An example of the work I was involved with can be seen here - note particularly the figures.

Things I Like

For a list of things that I enjoy and want to share - some of which have nothing to do with science at all - see here.
